Richmond Amateur Radio Club Swap Meet on Saturday, April 8, 2017
with Emergency Communications Vehicles and Amateur Station to Contact VE100VIMY

On Saturday, April 8, 2017, the Richmond Amateur Radio Club (RARC) will be hosting a swap meet at the South Arm United Church (southwest corner of No. 3 Rd. and Steveston Hwy.) in Richmond, BC from 9 AM to 1PM. General admission is $5 per person. Vendor tables (eight feet) are $20 each before March 1st, $25 each on or after March 1st. Free parking is available.

We plan to make this event a special one by also organizing a display
of emergency communications vehicles from local municipalities and
Amateur radio groups, and having a field radio station on site for the
public to contact VE100VIMY, the special event Amateur station set up in Vimy, France to commemorate the centenary of the WW1 Battle of Vimy Ridge.

We are inviting Maple Ridge Amateur Radio Club to participate in our
event by bringing out its emergency communications vehicle (or
equipment) for display at the church parking lot (or inside the swap
meet area). Participating groups will each receive a free vendor table
and two admission tickets into the swap meet if required.

We are also inviting any Amateur radio group interested in setting up
a field station outside the swap meet area with HF and/or digital
capability to contact VE100VIMY. RARC is addressing the contact
challenges presented by the propagation path/bearing and time zone
difference with the VIMY Commemorative Station Society organizers. The participating group will also receive a free vendor table and two
admission tickets into the swap meet.

More information about the swap meet and advertising opportunities is on the RARC event Web site at: www.richmondarc.ca
