Field Day 2017 will again be held at the Albion Fair Grounds Maple Ridge.  Field Day activities will be held all across North America by individual Amateurs and Amateur Radio Clubs.  The objective of Field Day is to prepare clubs and individuals to be ready to operateof grid in the event of an emergency.  All radio activities from HF VHF UHF and DSTAR will be made from radios on battery or generators only.  No AC power is used for this exercise.  Maple Ridge Amateur Radio Club members will begin making contacts at 11:00 hrs June 24 and will finish June 25 at 11:00 hrs.

While this is an exercise of preparedness this is also a annual social event. DSTAR Repeater VE7RMR Now Live

Great news the trial DSTAR repeater VE7RMR is up and running as a local and gateway repeater.  VE7RMR is accessed with any DSTAR radio at 440.800 Mhz with a +5.00 offset.

The repeater and controller are on the Grant Hill tower and the ircddbgateway application is all running on a raspberry Pi 3.  I have tested the system and have had QSOs on several reflectors and have made contacts with several DSTAR users throughout the world.

If you you have any questions about the repeater and DSTAR system please contact me through the Contact MRARC tab.
