Net-Controller’s Script 

In the situation where the usual net control person is unavailable, the following script can be used by any licensed amateur willing to help out and run the net.

-Good evening, this is the Maple Ridge Amateur Radio Club’s Weekly 2-meter net.

-My name is _____and my call sign is______, and I will be your net controller this evening.

-The net runs every Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. on this repeater, VE7RMR on the frequency 146.800 megahertz, with an input down 600 kilohertz and a tone of 156.7.

– The Club also operates the following:   A UHF repeater on 443.625 megahertz with an input up 5 megahertz and a tone of 156.7.     A 220 repeater on 224.880 megahertz with an input down 1.6 megahertz.  And a D-star UHF repeater on 440.800 megahertz with an input up 5 megahertz.

-You do not have to be a member of the Maple Ridge Amateur Radio Club to participate on the net.  All licensed radio amateurs are welcome and encouraged to check-in.

-We will start with emergency or priority traffic.  If anyone has any emergency or priority traffic, please come now.      <___pause to await traffic___>

-The net can be interrupted at any time for any emergency or priority traffic.

-Are there any reports of sick or injured amateurs?       <___pause to await traffic___>

-Are there any reports from the Maple Ridge Amateur Radio Club executive?    <___Pause___>

-Before we do general check-ins, we’ll take check-ins from our sister club in Ipswich, Queensland, Australia.  To avoid any repeater time-outs, we’ll take their call signs and come back to them later.  If there are any Ipswich club members on IRLP, please come now with your call sign.  <___Pause to take/record check-ins__>

-Again, to avoid the repeater timing out, we’ll come back to our sister club members shortly.

-Next, we will have general check-ins.  Are there any check-ins for the Maple Ridge Amateur Radio Club net, come now with your call sign and name.
