Our club is incredibly saddened to learn of the sudden passing of our club member, Art Siemens (VE7SIE). We learned today (May 9th) that Art passed away unexpectedly yesterday at Royal Columbian Hospital.
Art was well known and liked in the local ham community. He was a longtime member of the Surrey Amateur Radio Club. After moving to Port Coquitlam last year, Art joined our club and attended the Thursday coffee sessions several times, including with his partner Nicole (VE7PET). He enjoyed helping out and was happy to contribute.
Our deepest condolences to Nicole and to all of Art’s friends, which are doubtlessly many. The club net on May 14th was dedicated to Art and a minute of silence was held in his memory.
