In conjunction with the “BC ShakeOut” Earthquake preparedness drill, MRARC will be conducting a simultaneous net. The event and net occur on October 17th at 10:17 hours (10:17 on 10-17). A emergency alert is expected to be pushed to all cell phones to simulate the emergency. When that occurs, you’re encouraged to check-in with net control.

Because this is an emergency simulation, we will use a simplex frequency of 146.540 MHz, rather than the club’s repeater. Though net control (VA7XQ) will secondarily monitor the MRARC 2-meter repeater for those that cannot connect via simplex. Expect potential delays on the repeater as he will prioritize the simplex check-ins . As this is an emergency/disaster simulation, checking-in using emergency power (i.e. battery) is encouraged by all.

All licensed amateurs are welcome and encouraged to check-in with the net. More details on the BC ShakeOut can be found here: https://www.shakeoutbc.ca/

MRARC Thanks you for uploading.
