A local media outlet has published a special interest story on ham radio that features a member of the Maple Ridge Amateur Radio Club.
Paul Judd (VA7XQ), currently the club’s secretary, was contacted privately by News 1130 regarding a story they were running on the popularity of ham radio during the COVID-19 pandemic. The managing editor of the news outlet, Bruce Claggett, is also a ham and checked in with the MRARC net recently when Paul was a net controller. The two spoke extensively on a simplex frequency and Judd reports that Claggett passed his name to the reporter, Kelvin Gawley.
