The club set up outdoors for Winter Field Day, 2023 on January 28 and 29. The aim of the event is to hone emergency communcations skills under harsh conditions that might occur during a natural disaster. Five club members participated, with three (VE7NOX, VA7XQ and VA7DBJ) camping out in the forest overnight.

As luck would have it, it was the coldest night of the year, with temperatures plummeting to minus 5 Celsius. A strong wind blowing made it feel much colder and it snowed at one point. During the event, hundreds of contacts were made to other participating stations around North America. For club participants, logs have already been submitted to the WFD organizers. Thanks to everyone that participated.

All participants, even those that froze in tents, had a great time and are already looking forward to the next Winter Field Day. Photos of the event can be found in the club photo album with the same name.

MRARC Thanks you for uploading.
