The club deeply regrets to announce the passing of our club member, Mel Porritt (VE7AL). Mel passed away on February 22, 2023 at Maple Ridge Hospital. Mel was a current and active member, rarely missing a Thursday evening session at the club. A longtime member of the club, Mel was a regular volunteer at the S.P.A.R.C. (Society for the Preservation of Antique Radio in Canada) museum in Coquitlam. He was also a very active volunteer in the community, especially devoted to the RCMP detachment as a community policing volunteer. Mel’s Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 3rd, 1 to 3 p.m. at the Maple Ridge Legion.
